Hermosillo Recriminations
Sonora Governor Eduardo Bours has been giving press conferences the past couple of days to defend his government in the wake of the arrest seven Sonora officials (as well as one colleague at the federal level). He said yesterday that the IMSS lawsuit could not have proceeded without the approval from Calderón, and added that each of the last two IMSS directors (Daniel Karam, who brought the lawsuit, and his predecessor Juan Molinar) should also be investigated. This led to a denial from Fernando Gómez-Mont that Calderón had anything to do with the lawsuit, and a demand that Bours be respectful in his declarations about the president.
