The opinion of the former on Mexico's Alliance for Quality in Education is not positive, saying that it responds to political exigencies rather than the grave educational inequalities suffered Mexico's poor and rural citizens:

The quality of education in Mexico is poor, since it is only evident in private schools or public institutions that are located in middle-to-upper-class urban areas.
