Calderón's Approval Stable

As with Mitofsky, Buendía y Laredo's most recent polls show Calderón bouncing back from his lows earlier this year, with 59 percent of respondents to the latter poll expressing approval of the president. This figure represents a three-point gain since February, when Calderón's approval bottomed out for B&L. Inexplicably enough, during the same period, the right track/wrong track measures for the country as a whole and the federal government in particular both worsened by four points during the same lapse. Some of that confusion is probably explained by the fact that the polls were conducted during and just after Calderón's trip to Washington.
