Jockeying for Power in the PAN
This weekend the PAN voted for the membership of the National Council of the PAN, which is again made up of a majority of Calderón allies. Significantly, Excélsior says that the second biggest group is allied to Santiago Creel. The Council is responsible for electing the next PAN president, as well as the PAN candidate for the presidency in 2012. Bajo Reserva says that Calderón used the occasion to call for all panistas to put aside their differences and unite. He also delivered a message of solidarity with Diego Fernández.
