Report on Mexico

Here's a 20-or-so-page report on Mexico's security deterioration from the Congressional Research Service. There's nothing new for Mexico-watchers, but the striking part is, after reading a dozen pages on the spike in violence in Mexico, how inadequate the US response seems. There's the Mérida Initiative (which the report implies has not advanced beyond $7 million in aid actually transferred, which was reported in March by The Washington Post), and 14 Congressional hearings, and...
