The Mexican league final starts this week, pitting Monterrey against Cruz Azul. It promises to be a fun matchup for a number of reasons: first, it gives fans a chance to watch Humberto "Chupete" Suazo, for my money the most entertaining striker in the league, on the highest stage; it pits a marquee team in the nation's largest market against a marquee team in its third-largest city; it features a karma barometer, what with Cruz Azul advancing from an earlier round in part because of a flop resulting in an erroneous penalty; and it has the Cinderella story of Aldo De Nigris, whose brother, also a pro soccer player, died of a heart attack in Greece a few weeks ago at 31, and who can't stop scoring goals in the postseason.
