A Bit Like a Movie Hailed as the Best Ever, But Before Anyone Had Seen It

This line is from a story about the Tennessee Shuttlesworths:
[Bryce] Brown is the highest-rated recruit ever to sign with Tennessee.
The above makes it sound like Podunk U landed a blue-chipper for the first time. What crap. I don't know if the statement's literally true, but all it would show is that the recruit ratings are extremely faulty. Those of us with a passing familiarity with UT and with the NFL remember that arguably the best defensive end in history and arguably the best quarterback of his era (and destined to be in the conversation for all-time status) also played at Neyland. Brown has had a nice season backing up Monterio Hardesty, but it's not like he's the first time Tennessee's ever been blessed with talent.

Lane Kiffin, Pete Carroll, Tim Floyd...seems like failed pro coaches are in a hurry to prove something by any means necessary. I guess Charlie Weis and Al Groh haven't been accused of anything...oh wait, they both got fired.

Resist temptation, Wannstedt!

hey hey hey HEY!! Nothing's been proven on Lane. Let's just be patient.

What's up with Ben R. forgetting who his most reliable receiver is? I got Miller starting this week, and halfway through the third, he has one catch.
