Scary Day in Monterrey

Take a moment to appreciate the rhyme in the title...

The story is that a commando team attacked a government safe house and sprang 23 detainees from custody in Juárez, Nuevo León, which is right next door to Monterrey. Two guards were killed in the process. Elsewhere in the city, gunfights between the army and a group of alleged traffickers led to 14 people being killed, one of them the leader of the Zetas in Monterrey, and two of them innocent bystanders, including a child of 12 years. Sixteen people were arrested following the gunfight. The government also seized a small arsenal and a handful of cars.
