Evidently having forgotten that the PAN is his party's suddenly mortal enemy, César Duarte said that the new Secretary of Education will strengthen Calderón's cabinet. Another PRI deputy, Emilio Gamboa, got his party's message back on the campaign-season track by questioning Lujambio's experience in education, and added that said lack of experience could make him ill-suited to attack the problems in Mexico's educational system.
