Escorting the Ladies

A 20-year-old Mexican woman was arrested in Sonora after being discovered in a house loaded with weapons, including a Browning anti-aircraft gun. Because of her name (Anahí Beltrán), there is speculation that the arsenal belonged to the Beltrán Leyva gang.

Beyond the hardware, the arrest photos jumped out at me, because (as you can see to the left) it appears that two female Federal Police officers stand astride Beltrán, whereas in the past it's always been men who have escorted arrested suspects to the cameras. I suppose it was deemed indecorous or unseemly for two men to be photographed aside a female suspect. Regardless of the circumstances, the gender mores must be accounted for.
