Economic Predictions
Mexico's Treasury is predicting that in 2010, the peso will settle at 14.6 to the dollar, which means it will decline slightly from where it is today, though that's a whole lot better than it looked three weeks ago before the IMF credit line was announced. It also is forecasting economic growth of 2 percent and inflation of 3 percent, with Mexican crude to be sold at around $48 a barrel. The Hacienda has been consistently optimistic throughout the present downturn, so this could mean anything from great news to imminent disaster.
