Moneymaker

Mexico's version of E-Bay is auctioning off the domain rights to www.germanmartinez.com.mx. The opening bid was first set at 50,000 pesos (about $4,000), although it has since been lowered to a much more reasonable five pesos.

Given how Mexico's politics are dominated by dynastic powers, a clever entrepreneur should go and buy up the rights for the URLs with the names of all of today's prominent pols' kids. Then, in another 25 years or so, they scoop up the profits as the next generation of Creels and Nietos and Maderos and Ortegas jockey for the presidency in 2036 or 2042. Or maybe such a crazy scheme is a good illustration of why I'm not much of an entrepreneur.
