Another IMF Rumor Involving a Mexican

Ernesto Zedillo's name is also being kicked around as a potential replacement to Dominique Straus-Kahn at the IMF. I would love to see the reaction from Salinas, who used to harbor ambitions for a post like that (he had his eye on the WTO, I believe), to that. The developing world, of course, has long complained about the West's monopoly over the IMF and World Bank leadership. There's really no good reason for it in 2011, if there ever was. It would be nice for that historic step to be taken without the cloud of sexual assault glowering down, but oh well.
