To say as Zakaria does that "Mexico has a first-rate public-health system" is really stretching a point...maybe if you are rich/upper middle class (like Zakaria and probably the people he knows) but if you are poor, it's another story........many people have commented that it was the inequalities in Mexico's health system that led to many people in Mexico dying when in other countries the death rate from this flu virus was much much lower
Yeah definitely a fair point. It seems like the system worked OK given its limitations, but the difference in treatment for poor and rural Mexicans is scandalous.
