Roberto Madrazo, one of Mexico's most shamelessly corrupt politicans (in ways both mortal and venal), accused Ernesto Zedillo and Vicente Fox of protecting Amado Carrillo and Joaquín Guzmán, respectively.
An odd nugget from the story: with his political days behind him, Madrazo now dedicates himself to selling surgical packages. Isn't that a bizarre profession for a former governor and presidential candidate with no medical background? I can imagine him like a used-car salesman: "If you pick up the liposuction and the boob job, I'll give you a coupon for a tooth whitening with my cousin. He's a dentist." And wouldn't his potential clients be worried about buying surgery from someone whose most notorious moment was an illegal shortcut?
