Missing People
The National Human Rights Commission, which I'd say is professional and competent but whose estimates for such things tend to be a bit larger than other organizations', says that 5,397 people Mexico have disappeared since the beginning of 2006. Most of those, the implication would seem to be, are victims of organized crime. The CNDH also says that almost 9,000 people who've been killed over the same period have not been identified.
