Today in the Mérida Initiative

Yesterday the Senate approved another $300 million transfer to Mexico, $150 million less than what the White House was soliciting, and $100 million less than what the US will have given in the first installment of the agreement. Also, the US announced that 60 percent of the resources in the first installment of the Mérida Initiative have been transferred. Evidently, eight helicopters still await passage to Mexican air space.
