The Church Butts In, PRI Tells It To Butt Out
The archdiocese of Mexico City criticized the PRI for opposing legislation with the exquisite name of the Law of Extinction of Dominion, which deals with narcos' asset seizure. This is an unusually forward criticism by the Church, in that it deals with an issue that isn't directly within the religious purview, and could be interpreted as a violation of the Church's role as dictated by the Constitution. The PRI responded by telling the Church not to get involved in the upcoming campaigns.
