Before I go all despondent about Man U's defeat of the Special One and more trivial matters like the collapse of the world's financial system, it seems like a good idea to remind myself that life could be worse. I could be a resident of Iceland, and that giant asteroid the size of 1,000 nuclear weapons could have nailed us last Tuesday.* All in all, we're doing OK.
*But maybe, rather than assuming asteroids will keep missing us, we should force our policy-makers to go back and read this.
