Forced Storylines
Via Boz, who rightly points out that the premise is basically invented out of thin air, the Washington Post has a story about narco-culture and lucha libre, and why the two don't intersect, complete with a series of quotes by Jorge Chabat. It's really odd; I know the narco issue weighs heavily in American media treatments of Mexico, but why talk about it when there's no intuitive connection and the point of the story is that the two don't overlap? With regard to lucha libre, the drug trade may be the 800-pound gorilla, but rather than being in the room, he's on another continent.
