Reaction to Plascencia

Back from a nice long vacation, José Antonio Crespo disapproves of the new human rights boss:
Raúl Plascencia represents the continuity of the lamentable tenure José Luis Soberanes of the CNDH, while Emilio Álvarez Icaza promised a radical change. But his demonstrated autonomy in the CDHDF is not what is wanted from those who preside over "autonomous" institutions. Soberanes' tenure must have seemed spectacular to the PAN, PRI, and the Green Party, something most organizations, activists, and scholars of human rights in Mexico don't agree with.
More on Crespo's column tomorrow.
