New Human Rights Boss
The next chief of the CNDH is Raúl Plascencia. I don't know enough about his track record to offer an informed reaction, but he's an UNAM-educated lawyer from Tijuana who's worked with the CNDH for the past ten years. He's also written three books about criminal justice in Mexico. Emilio Álvarez Icaza, who'd received the most media attention in the past few weeks, came in second place.
