Thespian Pretensions

Bárbara Mori digs into her bag of tired cliches:
In one scene the mother shaves her head in solidarity with her son, who has lost his hair because of the treatment, and Mori didn't want to use tricks: she got rid of all her hair. "When I was doing the scene I looked at the mirror and my eyes filled with tears, I said: "Bárbara Mori, what are you doing? But in that moment I wasn't me I was Paola, the mother of the little boy..."
Mori's career arch is pretty interesting, in that she made the leap from Mexican TV and movies to Bollywood rather than American film. I wonder if we'll see more of this from actors and actresses who don't quite break through in Hollywood.
