Still Slipping
Cantarell continues its inexorable march to dryness: the Secretariat of Energy says that the massive oil field's declining production costs Mexico around $20 billion per year in revenue. By 2017, Mexico will be able to count on Cantarell generating only 8.4 percent of today's total oil production.
