Addicts in Mexico
The Houston Chronicle had an article yesterday about the difficulties Mexico faces in dealing with its addict population. Given that drugs are so prevalent in Mexico, and that the levels of drug use in Mexico are relatively miniscule while alcoholism rates are roughly equal to those in the United States, it would seem that there is the potential for a great surge in illegal drug abuse in Mexico over the next few decades. To its credit, the Mexican government seems to understand this and is adjusting the way the nation deals with its addicts.
