Horrible Year
Not sure where the stat comes from, but Felipe Calderón says the number of Mexicans living in "nutritional poverty" (meaning they don't have enough to eat on a daily basis) jump from 14 to 20 million in the last year alone. That would be a jump of roughly 43 percent in a single year, which is simply astounding. Calderón is using the fact to argue for his economic plan, which proposes a 2 percent VAT on everything.
