Applauding the Police

Here's an interesting first-person account of an attempted car robbery from LA Times reporter Ken Ellingwood. The lack of respect and admiration for the police is a major barrier to Mexico being a safer society, because, rather than working within the community, the police are distrusted the way an occupying army would be.
