Córdova Villalobos assures that it is absurd to assume that in Mexico we overreacted "to show off", since the government validated every element of its response with the criteria and norms set by the World Health Organization (WHO).
And, in effect, given the epidemiological info that originated the alarm --which were provided by the Mexican government and also those of the US and Canada-- there existed at that time the predetermined elements under which the protocol of the WHO calls for the imposition of the extreme measures that were taken in our country.
Because of all that, unlike in other latitudes, here we have suffered significantly more. More deaths, more paranoia and greater economic damage. Now that our neighbors confirm that the issue is not so grave for them, maybe it's time to complement the WHO's impressive apparatus with resources, solidarity and international aid so that the economic upheaval in Mexico not so less grave.
