Funny How a Career Can Swing on One or Two Consequential Decisions

One odd factoid in Poder's recent profile of Ernesto Cordero, the new Finance Secretary and fashionable pick to be the PAN's presidential candidate in 2012: he was all set to take an executive job at Enron in 2000, when the company was stealthily but swiftly heading toward oblivion, when none other than Felipe Calderón encouraged him to put his Penn economic training at a Mexican think tank affiliated with the PAN.
