Excélsior had a piece on the growth of extortion gangs in Mexico City. According to authorities, at least 15 gangs are operating in the city's Centro Histórico, at least one of them claiming to be a part of the Zetas. These are probably small timers, though I'm not sure it matters all that much to the people receiving the demands. This comes amid an ongoing debate as to the extent to which the country's problems with insecurity have extended into the nation's capital.
