Mexico's Jails
The NY Times has a pretty good piece about the convicts (quite literally) running the prisons in Mexico, and how extradition is being used to combat it. One issue: somehow the piece manages to not mention Osiel Cárdenas. I guess he's kind of dated now, but one of the decade's most notorious traffickers running his empire from jail for close to four years would seem to be relevant. For that matter, nor does Mexico's most famous escapee, Chapo Guzmán, appear in the article. Otherwise, good stuff.
