Oral Troubles
The introduction of oral trials to the Mexican legal system was a big deal earlier this year, but a series of experts told the Chamber of Deputies that the change's implementation has been uneven and poorly carried out. This article goes as far as to say that the future of open trials, conceived as a bulwark against drug money corrupting the judicial system, is uncertain. That seems like it's going a bit far (it's only been a couple of months), but this is unfortunate news.
