A Grim Day in England
Unfortunately, we're not talking about the weather. I missed the game, due to work and England's unwillingness to schedule the game in the middle of the night, but it seems like it wasn't an inspired effort from the Yanks. Anyone happen to see it? Opinions?
i caught about 30 minutes. it was men against boys. we just don't have the players yet: rooney, lampard, gerrard vs. eddie johnson, clint dempsey, and landon donovan. tough to win at wembley with such a difference in talent, especially now that mcclaren is out and capello is in.
on the plus side, US Soccer has realized that it will take more than beating Mexico to get us among the world's elite. we need more games like this. spain and argentina over the next few weeks will also be great tests.
