Issues that Shouldn't Be Seen as Tests of Strength
If this post aspired to being a comprehensive list, it would be long indeed. In the interest of space, I'll stick to one indisputable example: comprehensive immigration reform, which has thousands of moving parts, scores of interest groups approaching the issue from very different points of view, and necessarily entails a number of painful and imperfect compromises.
