String 'em Up!

Grupo Imagen has a series of online polls measuring support for the death penalty.

1) 91 percent are in favor of the Coahuila Congress' legalization of the death penalty for kidnappers who kill their victims.

2) 70 percent say it is ethical to kill a murderer.

3) 85 percent think the national Congress should debate the measure formally.

91? What does this say about Mexicans' commitment to the tenets of the Catholic Church...?

Yeah that's a huge number. I think it's more more a reflection of gut level anger than a sign of deep approval, but nonetheless the level of support from what I imagine is a pretty education group is staggering.
