Jesús Ortega, newly minted as the chief of the PRD, is promising to root out the authors of the political fraud that left his victory in limbo for eight long months. Even if this is done in good faith, a healthy effort to clean up the party will probably be seen more as a way for Ortega to purge his enemies. Overall, this seems likely to split the party further.
On the other hand, Ortega says AMLO isn't leaving the party just yet.
