Invest Here!

Poder has an article about the premiere places to invest in the world, in Latin America, and in Mexico. Singapore took the top spot internationally, with Chicago coming in fourth (I see Ditka's omnipotent hand in this). Mexico City was the highest ranked Mexican city, 33rd in the international rankings and first in Latin America. On the Latin America list, a not-too-surprising group of major metropolises followed Mexico City, but there were some eyebrow-raisers in the national ranking. Monterrey was predictably second, but Guadalajara, the nation's second largest city, was only fifth. Drug-plagued Chihuahua and Juárez were third and fourth, while mid-sized Saltillo and Reynosa were eight and ninth. Not surprisingly, the South was underrepresented. Of the top twelve, Cancún was the only city not located in the Mexico City-dominated center or in the northern business belt.
