Ron Rosenbaum has the skinny on a bunch of them. Having been in Mexico for three years now, half of them are unknown to me (drilldown?); most nonetheless give me shudders about the semantic stupidity of office work. Shouldn’t “meta” be in there somewhere?
As a bonus, check out Slate’s review of a film series that generated a welter of catchphrases, the five Dirty Harry flicks. I often find these reviews of age-old movies that Slate runs slightly irritating, but I’m not exactly sure why. I can’t decide if it’s because the magazine could maybe do better than to drudge up three-decade old movies just to slam them, or because I don’t like having old favorites exposed as very flawed pieces of work. Maybe both.
