Happier Days Ahead

Sixty-two percent of respondents to an El Universal poll said that they expect 2011 to be a better year than 2010. Mitofsky, which has in recent years found its polling targets quite a pessimistic bunch, had a similar finding in its year-end poll, with 60 percent saying that 2010 was kinder to them than 2009 had been, and 75 percent saying that they expected 2011 to be better still. At the end of 2009, in contrast, only 40 percent were saying that it had been a better year than 2008, and only 58 percent expected more from the coming year.
