The reported split between the Zetas and the erstwhile leading Gulf traffickers continues to cause an unusual amount of violence in Tamaulipas and other Zetas strongholds, which
had been remarkably calm for a long while. The now-notorious
narco-bloqueos popped up in Reynosa earlier today, several days after appearing in Monterrey, and
18 people have been killed in the city in the last day or so.
