False Identities

This detail from an AP report about the disputes between the late Marciel Maciel, his children, and the Legionnaires of Christ is worth repeating:

Lara said she met Maciel in the Mexican border city of Tijuana, when she was 19 and he 56, and that from there they started a relationship in which they had two children, José Raúl and Cristian...

She said that Maciel passed himself off as a widower who worked for Shell and that sometimes claimed to be a private detective and even a CIA agent.
