The
El Paso police places the number of recent arrivals from Juárez at 30,000, which is significantly less than the 100,000 that
this article referred to, based on figures from ICE. That's a pretty big gap, although one would expect the federal immigration agency to have better tools for making a reasonable estimate than the local police. Whatever the case, lots of
juarenses (as many as 500,000) are leaving town.
