Tax Debate Turning?

PRI Senate leader Manlio Fabio Beltrones says that his bloc is willing to discuss a value-added tax, which is a big step away from the nononoincaseyoumisseditNO! we've been hearing from virtually every priísta in recent weeks. That declaration comes as the Finance Secretariat proposed a value-added "tax for the poor", under which staples of the economy diet (canned beans, corn tortillas, et cetera) will be exempt.
